
Rooted in her hometown of Sioux Falls, SD, Chef Ellen Doerr is a culinary expert renowned for her heartfelt approach to food and community. After honing her skills at the Auguste Escoffier School for Culinary Arts in Boulder, Colorado, graduating in 2014, Ellen returned to Sioux Falls. There, she gained experience working in local restaurants before launching her own venture, Chef Ellen: Personal Chef Services, in 2018.
Chef Ellen's business started as an in-home chef service catering to food allergies and specialty diets. It quickly expanded to include meal delivery, adaptable to personal tastes and dietary needs. Her dedication to making healthy, customizable meals accessible is also reflected in her contributions to The Meal Kit Review, where she provides insights on preparing nutritious, family-friendly meals that cater to specific dietary preferences.
Beyond her culinary ventures, Chef Ellen is deeply involved in fostering a vibrant local food culture. She participates actively in Sioux Falls area events and is a proud participant in the Live Well Sioux Falls’s Healthier Choice Program, helping residents and visitors make healthier dining choices. She holds an International Certified Food Safety Manager Certificate, ensuring the highest food safety standards in her cooking.
Today, Ellen resides in her childhood home with her husband and two children, cherishing meals around the same dining room table where she grew up, continuing the tradition of creating lasting memories with every dish she prepares.
