Sunbasket Vs EveryPlate- Meal Plans
With both Every Plate and Sun Basket, you have two subscription plan options: for two-person and four-person.
With Every Plate, you can set your plan for three to five recipes per week. Sun Basket offers more flexibility, and you can subscribe to two or more recipes per week. Sun Basket also provides the option for a one-time purchase at a bit higher price. You can set your meal choices to match specific diets like – Paleo, Mediterranean, vegans, diabetics, low-carb, vegetarian, and more.
Sunbasket Vs EveryPlate- Variety and Style of Meals
Sun Basket takes the upper hand when it comes to variety! The Sun Basket menu has a ton of variety, with around 30 different dinner dishes presented every week.
The Sun Basket subscription service offers high-quality meal kit choices for vegetarian, paleo, vegan, Mediterranean, gluten-free, and lean and clean dietary choices. That’s not even an exhaustive list, as they cater to even more diets!
For most, you can get through the meal home cooking process in a 30-minute time. The company also offers some speedy cooking meals (ready in 15 minutes) and oven-ready meals, marked as “Fresh and ready” on the menu.
Every Plate dedicates itself to creating easy and simple recipes, using no more than five to seven ingredients. Its menu consists of 16 delicious options that vary and includes a few vegetarian options. Each week, the company offers one or two premium recipes at an additional cost of $2.99 per serving and protein bandle as an add-on.

Sunbasket Vs EveryPlate- Quality of Ingredients
It didn’t take long for us to notice that both Sun Basket and Every Plate did their best to ensure that they provide quality ingredients!
Sun Basket goes the extra mile to deliver on its incredible promise of consistently organic and sustainably sourced ingredients. Whether it was a purple carrot or a cut of salmon, we must commend both meal delivery services on their presentation.
However, we must say that Every Plate uses a more simplistic style to keep the price low. Be that as it may, it still uses trustworthy suppliers to ensure that their boxes include farm-fresh vegetables, antibiotic-free chicken, and grass-fed ground beef.
Sun Basket Vs. Every Plate Taste
We at The Meal Kit Review believe that we can only provide sound and truthful information by ordering, cooking, and tasting the meals from all the meal kit companies that we review. How can we talk about products and services if we don’t test them?
Well, we can confidently say that both Sun Basket and Every Plate provided superb experiences.
With Sun Basket, we found that the contents were well-organized, and the portion size allocations were well done. We also found the meals quick and easy to prepare, and they were undeniably enjoyable and felt healthy and tasteful to eat.
EveryPlate was also a pleasantly surprising experience. The price point admittedly may cause low expectations, but we enjoyed the simple meals very much.

This grilled cheese sandwich by Everyplate was a tasty, light and easy-going vegetarian dinner. It was full of flavors from the pimento cheese, and the tomato added a lovely juicy element.
This dish came with a side of grilled sweet potato wedges. These were simply grilled in the oven for about 20 minutes along with some olive oil and delicious fry seasoning. This meal from EveryPlate was super easy to cook and took a little less than half an hour overall.
EveryPlate offers some nice competition to other meal kit services. It has the appeal of being really cost-effective at only $5 per serving, and that is before their great beginner’s promotion that makes them even more affordable. This service is very attractive to young singles, students and anyone who is on a tight budget. Moreover, even though this service costs only a few dollars, the level of ingredients we received in this recipe was much higher than we expected.
Ingredients included a fresh red Roma tomato, amazing sour-dough bread, a large beautiful sweet potato and a generous amount of cheese.

Lettuce cups dishes are one of our favorite meals to cook and eat. Why? Because they are so easy to prepare and usually delicious and healthy, resulting in a light and tasty dinner.
Preparation was easy, involving washing and drying the lettuce cups and pickling the onion, which is always such a nice added touch. Next, we stir-fried the ground chicken with the paleo stir fry chicken blend made from fish sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger, and then served! Simple, colorful and delicious. We served the separate components on the table, and each one of us assembled our own lettuce cup according to our preferences. Such a fun way to eat!
Sun Basket is known as a company that uses only sustainably sourced and organic ingredients and supports many different lifestyle and dietary needs. In keeping with this philosophy, this meal is suitable for the paleo, gluten-free friendly, low-calorie (only 350 calories per serving), dairy-free and soy-free diets. It is also ideal for the Mediterranean, low-carb and diabetes dietary needs.

Sun Basket and Every Plate Nutritional Value of Meals
Sun Basket retains a team of registered dietitians who created formal nutritional standards. Every Plate uses a team of professional chefs to maintain nutrition quality standards.
We can say that the nutrient ratio of carbs, proteins, and fats is well done with both companies, but the Sun basket menu seemed to be more focused on healthy eating. Additionally, most meals have a good portion of cooked or fresh vegetables present.
The calorie count starts at about 400 for the Sun Basket lean and clean meals, while Every plate meals start at around 600. The calorie count tops out at 750 and 900 for Sun Basket and Every Plate, respectively. Of course, these are per serving values, and portion sizes remain generous, regardless of the numbers.
If you have any concerns, you can get full nutritional details of each meal on their respective companies’ websites.
The Delivery Box
Both Sun Basket and Every Plate deliver their products in medium-sized labeled boxes. Proteins are found at the bottom, and ice packs surround them to help retain their cold temperatures.
Both providers also use environmentally responsible packaging. Nevertheless, your meals are kept in fresh condition.
Sun Basket organizes its content incredibly well, which means that there is next to no sorting required for the well-organized content.
On the other hand, every Plate requires some level of sorting since the meal kit delivery service doesn’t use a per meal packing style for its ingredients.
Every Plate and Sun Basket includes recipe cards in the delivery box to help you get cooking.
