Our experience with both companies clearly showed a constant usage of high-quality ingredients.
With Green Chef, you know that you are getting only the best! It is the only USDA certified organic meal kit company, which means all the ingredients you get in your box are organic and sustainably sourced. Their ingredients come from a trusted network of ranchers, farmers, fishermen, and artisans.
While not providing organic ingredients all the time, Blue Apron does promise that all of their meat products have no added hormones, vegetables are locally sourced farm-fresh, and all seafood is sustainably sourced.
The Delivery Box
Both companies use boxes that have been designed explicitly for meal kit delivery. They are labeled and include sufficient ice packs to ensure that the ingredients remain fresh and chilled throughout the entire delivery process.
With Green Chef, each dish’s ingredients arrive labeled, though you will need to sort each meal’s ingredients. The majority of their packaging is made from recyclable, reusable, and/or compostable materials.
Blue Apron does not sort their ingredients per each recipe, and they are all loosely packed in the box. You will need to allow a little time to sort through the ingredients before storing them in the fridge.
