We loved this Thai style dinner from the Home Chef menu! The sauce that went with the shrimp was delicious. It was an appetizing mixture of sweet, sour and spicy, with a lovely addition of pineapple. The sauce contained shallots, green bell peppers, green onions, tomato paste, soy sauce, and sweet chili sauce. While we were making this, the smells in our kitchen where so good and we could hardly wait to taste it!
The shrimp were served on a bed on white jasmine rice and garnished with fresh green onion and crispy rice noodles that gave the dish a lovely crunchy finish.
We ordered the dish with its original proteins (shrimp), but it did have the option to “customize it” – meaning you could change or upgrade the meal’s protein. For this specific meal, the “customize it” options were diced chicken thigh, sliced flank steak (USDA) and even a double portion of shrimp.
We were amazed at how healthy and low in calories this super yummy dish was – only 572 calories per serving. Because of this, this dish is also great for a weight loss diet.
