The Hungryroot menu items are planet-centric, vegan or vegetarian, and designed to be paired together to create a range of very simple to cook meals, that are ready in less than 10 minutes. In theory, it sounds good – food that is healthy, full of vegetables and super easy to prepare!
But the reality was quite different. We found that most of the meals we tried from Hungryroot were not of the best quality and not at all at the same level of other vegan or vegetarian meal kits that offer real chef-designed meals to be cooked at home.
This dish felt like a kind of mish-mash of things that did not work very well together.
The Burrito Bowl contained cucumber, corn and a black bean salsa, kale pesto paste and cauliflower rice.
All these ingredients were tossed together in a hot pan for few minutes and we honestly did not like the overall taste and thought that the ingredients and the dish as a whole were not very well executed.
