Quinoa risotto bowl by Hungryroot

We felt that it was an unappealing mish-mash of things

Hungryroot is a meal kit delivery service that offers planet-centric, vegan or vegetarian meal kits services. Their foods are designed to be paired together to create a large range of very easy to cook meals, that are ready to serve in less than 10 minutes. Sounds great right? Super convenient meals that are also healthy and full of vegetables?

Unfortunately, the concept is not as good as the reality of what is delivered. We found that most of the meals we tried from Hungryroot were not so good and not at all at the same level of other vegan or vegetarian meal kits that are available and offer chef-designed, professionally prepared meals.

As for this risotto, it was acceptable but certainly nothing special. This dish included carrot rice, spinach artichoke chickpea dip and a lemon artichoke quinoa cup, all mixed together on a hot pan. We felt that it was an unappealing mish-mash of things, that could have used some added spiciness to give it a little kick and some depth of flavor.
