Seared Steak with Salisbury Sauce with Loaded Mashed Potatoes

This meal from the Martha and Marley Spoon menu had a classic vintage feel.

Lee

This type of meal is typical of the recipes that you will receive from Martha & Marley Spoon. We would expect nothing less, considering it is the meal kit service of Martha Stewart, the Queen of classic American home cooking. This dish included tender sirloin steak served with a traditional Salisbury sauce. Salisbury sauce is a sauce that was popular in the mid-twentieth century and is made from Worcestershire sauce, beef broth concentrate, ketchup and a bit of flour and water.

To keep the classic feel of this dish, the steak was served with potatoes. Not just any potatoes though, these were loaded potatoes with butter, cream cheese, and green scallions. Absolutely delicious and a 100% must-have with this incredible gravy!! Peas were also included to complete the dish.

The recipe was very easy and enjoyable to cook. With Martha & Marley Spoon you receive a colored recipe page that includes images and detailed instructions to make the cooking process as easy as possible. The overall prep and cooking time took just over half on hour – not too long for a fancy steak dinner. We were impressed with the quality of the ingredients we received. The steak was soft and tender after cooking and the potatoes were fresh and super delicious. Quality ingredients are very much a standard part of the Martha & Marley Spoon experience!
