Our Experience – Meals We Tried
For over five years, we’ve rigorously assessed BistroMD, ensuring that we sample a box every six months. In our latest review, conducted in early 2024, we received a BistroMD box featuring 12 new meals. As in previous years, our testers were astounded by the quality and freshness of the food despite being frozen. The company employs a special flash-freezing technique that preserves freshness and nutrients.
Notably, the meals are relatively low in calories yet boast incredible taste and a diverse range of flavors. With such an extensive menu, maintaining your subscription can lead to successful and enjoyable weight loss journeys.
Among the meals in our box was the Hickory smoked BBQ pork with broccoli, a delectable dish featuring moist pork complemented by vibrant green-crunchy broccoli and tangy purple cabbage-apple slaw, all for a mere 320 calories. We also relished the Chicken tikka masala meatballs. The four meatballs were tender and accompanied by saag aloo, a traditional Indian dish comprising spinach, potatoes, and aromatic spices, totaling just 320 calories.

The BistroMD Delivery Box
The BistroMD box is very well organized. It is made with insulating material on the inside, and the contents are packed with ice on the bottom and the top of the box. Our box was left outside of the freezer for a few hours after we received it, and all the meals inside were still very much frozen when we opened our delivery.
Each meal is wrapped in its own branded sleeve, which includes the name, heating instructions, and nutritional facts. Super convenient!
It is also important to note that the company’s trays are microwave—and oven-safe (up to 400F) and don’t release BPA when heated. The tray and plastic cover, as well as the cardboard sleeve and all the other paper products, can be directly recycled.

When managing your subscription, you can enter your personal homepage, ‘My Bistro’ at any time. From here, you can make any changes, including swapping one meal for another, changing your plan, and canceling the account. We were pleased to see that there are no hoops to jump through in terms of canceling your account. You simply click the cancel button on your account, and that’s it!
