It is also great for those who are looking to save time on grocery shopping and meal planning. It is an appealing option for those who are looking for meal plans that meet certain dietary or lifestyle requirements such as clean eating, diabetic, weight-loss, vegetarian or keto, to name a few.
The PlateJoy nutrition team works with over 50 different data focus points to create a fully custom-made meal plan that will perfectly match your needs.
PlateJoy website and subscription process:
The PlateJoy user experience is very detailed, yet super easy and even fun to follow. Their profile questionnaire asks you multiple questions about your diet, eating habits and preferences. Their idea is for you to be as detailed as possible about dietary restrictions, health goals, time constraints, and the number of meals you need help with.
The questionnaire includes asking for details about your diet. Some of the options include weight loss, Mediterranean, keto, paleo, gluten-free, vegan, diabetes, and so much more. They also clarify your meat-eating habits, milk preferences, and you have the option to exclude any ingredients that you do not want to eat. You can specify oil preferences, the time you wish to spend on cooking and more. By using this detailed personalized process, the website is then able to create a meal plan that is perfect for you.

The icing on the cake with the PlateJoy service is that it easily integrates your grocery shopping lists (based on your menu items of course) with the Instacart shopping service, for maximum efficiency! Grocery shopping and meal planning have never been this easy!
The PlateJoy meal variety:
One of the best things about PlateJoy is the huge variety of recipes that they offer. Their culinary team has created hundreds of recipes, to suit almost every need. Each week you will get a selection of 10-15 recipes for each meal of the day to choose from. You can switch recipes or even ask to see more, so there is never a chance that you won’t find something you like. Their meals range from easy fix salads and omelets, classic pasta or meat dishes, to super fancy dinners. Their range is endless.
The PlateJoy meals: We at the Meal Kit Review are dedicated to testing and tasting every service we review, so we experienced a two-week trial with PlateJoy, and we enjoyed the experience very much! Most of the meals we were offered looked yummy and the ones we chose to cook were excellent and easy to cook, which was to be expected as that was one of our specific preferences!
Just a few examples of the meals we loved are:
Scrambled eggs with asparagus, spinach, parmesan cheese, and lemon. This dish was from the breakfast menu, and it took us only 7 minutes to cook. We found it to be quite indulgent, and we loved the lemon scent in the eggs, it was delicious.

Spinach, orange, avocado and cashew nut salad. We enjoyed this meal for lunch, and it was a big hit at the office!!! It was so easy to prepare, taking only 10 minutes and it tasted delicious. The citrus flavor from the orange blended perfectly with the avocado and fresh spinach. The crunchy nuts added a lovely texture. This dish was a beautiful combination of health and taste on a plate.
Scallops with basil-lemon-bacon zucchini noodles. This was one of our dinner options, and it was quite fancy, yet relatively easy to prepare. It felt healthy and light, and we absolutely loved the zucchini noodles. We thought this was a delightful dish.
Bottom Line – do we recommend PlateJoy?
PlateJoy is not a typical meal kit service, but more of a meal planning service. If you are looking to diversify the meals you include in your weekly diet and save time on grocery shopping; then this service is just what you need! The service gives you many meals options, with a focus on healthy eating, that is based on your specific dietary and lifestyle needs. What’s nice about PlantJoy is that it creates your grocery list, based on the meals you choose and integrates it to the Instacart shopping service directly. The service is convenient and affordable, and we highly recommend giving it a try.
