Introduction to EveryPlate meal kit delivery service:

The mission of EveryPlate meal kit delivery service is to bring you delicious, homemade meals at the most affordable price. How do they manage to supply super affordable meals, at a price that is as much as half of other meal kit services? First, they use less packaging. That allows them to reduce their costs and be eco-friendlier. Second, the company’s culinary team keeps it simple and uses fewer ingredients per recipe. But not to worry – from our experience, the meals are delicious, satisfying and fulfilling.

To sum it up – EveryPlate is about bringing taste, value and convenience to your table, rather than turning you into a Master Chef!

Who is it for?

EveryPlate is a perfect match for people who would like to enjoy home-cooked meals but have a tight budget and do not wish to pay too much to eat good food. EveryPlate is also great for maintaining manageable dining habits with delicious recipes that contain fresh, pre-portioned ingredients and are easy to cook. EveryPlate meals are usually ready in about 30 minutes.

Plans available:

In this EveryPlate review, we found out that they offers two subscription plans to choose from:

  • Two-person box, catering for two people, three times a week.
  • Family box, catering for four people, three times a week.

It is important to note that EveryPlate understands the need for flexibility – and the company allows you to skip weeks that don’t work for your schedule, and you can also pause your subscription at any time, with no added cost.

EveryPlate Main benefits:

  • Great meals at the most valuable and affordable prices
  • 11 different delicious recipes to choose from every week
  • Great beginner’s promotion
  • Easy to cook
  • double up option –  you can now order more of your favorite meals!
  • modularity for select recipes, which will replace the protein within the existing recipe with a protein of your choosing.
  • Less packaging than most other meal kits
  • Flexibility to skip weeks or pause your account when required.

Style and variety of dishes:

In this EveryPlate review, we discovered their weekly menu offers 11 meals to choose from. The meals are usually classic and not over the top sophisticated, so they provide an easy way to enjoy healthy, home-cooked dinners where you never have to juggle too many pots or pans. For example, you can find amazing dishes like sausage and pepper baked orzo topped with a cheesy crust or pork chops topped with rich cherry jam and smoky ancho chili powder sauce, with a side of roasted potatoes and carrots.

Every week, one of the meals is a premium meal (usually a steak or high-quality seafood) that is offered for just $3 extra.

Two other great new features from EveryPlate are the “double-up” and the modularity. The double-up allows you to select more than one meal of your choice for the same week. So If you like Hotel Butter Steak or pork bibimbap, you can now order more of it! The modularity option for select recipes allows you to replace the protein in some chosen recipes with a protein of your choosing. The cooking steps might adjust, but you can now truly customize your meals.

The taste test:

At the Meal Kit Review, we ensure we test and taste each meal kit service company that we review. Our team makes sure to try various meals from the company menu, and that goes for EveryPlate as well. After giving EveryPlate a try, we can honestly say we were really pleased with our experience!

Each one of the six meals we tasted was easy to cook, and most importantly – they were all delicious, fulfilling and generously portioned.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients – the veggies were fresh, and the meats were obviously of great quality – even with the incredibly low prices of the service.

Some of the dishes we tried and loved from EveryPlate were the sausage and pepper baked orzo that had some lovely juiciness from the sausage meat and nice crispiness from the mozzarella cheese and panko crust. We also really enjoyed the Southwestern Beef Bowl with a spicy chipotle crema and lime rice that added a twist to a classic dish. The Steak Frites topped with delicious garlic butter and served with a  side of green beans and shallots was perfect!

Getting started with EveryPlate

Getting started with EveryPlate is a piece of cake! You can easily sign up to the company service through their website.  The first step in the registration process is choosing your preferred plan from the two plans offered (two-person or four-person with 3 meals a week), then you create an account and checkout. The last step of the funnel is to choose the meals you would like delivered to your home for the next delivery week.

The EveryPlate menu includes five weekly recipes, including one premium-gourmet meal for an extra $3. Once you have made your selections, you will receive your first box a few days later. You just need to unpack the ingredients from the box, choose your first meal and then begin cooking using the very easy-to-follow recipe cards. We must point out that EveryPlate is completely flexible and allows you to skip weeks or pause your subscription at any time with no charges or penalties.

The EveryPlate Meal Box

EveryPlate sends a medium-size labeled box. All the meal ingredients are packed together in a small inner-carton box, and the refrigerated proteins are packed separately at the bottom of the box with enough ice to keep them cool during the delivery process.

In the box, you will also find the small and super-friendly recipe cards, including information on the ingredients of each meal and the cooking process. As part of EveryPlate’s cost-effective mantra, the items are not separately packed for each meal, so there is some sorting to be done, but this only takes 1-2 minutes, and it is much eco-friendlier in terms of the amount of packaging that is used!

Quality of ingredients:

We were quite impressed by the quality of ingredients we received. Even though the price of the service is low, the quality of the products is very good! The proteins look fresh and are of good quality, and all the veggies were beautiful. The company states that their suppliers vary by week and region and that their first priority is to get to know their suppliers and ensure the highest quality of ingredients are delivered to their customers.

The EveryPlate website and ordering process

The EveryPlate website is very straightforward and easy to follow. Even though the selection of your meals is the last step in the sign-up process, you can view the menu for weeks ahead to see what is in store. On each menu item, you can see the full recipe, ingredients list and nutrition facts. The signing up process is easy, and once you sign up, you’re in control – you can review your pre-selected menus or change meals or plans for any of your scheduled deliveries. The website also offers a customer support service for any questions that might arise.

EveryPlate now also has an app, where customers can very easily manage everything about their account trough their phone – that, of course, includes choosing or changing your selected recipes, skipping a particular delivery date, or even canceling the subscription.

So, is EveryPlate worth it?

EveryPlate supplies delicious low-cost meals every week, at a price everyone can enjoy. At the Meal Kit Review, we tasted a few of their meals, and we really enjoyed the experience! The meals are classic, not over the top sophisticated and very easy to cook. And most importantly – they were super tasty and satisfying.
